Recently acquired by Christchurch engineering steady Roberts Engineering, C R Equipment continues in its tradition of providing an extraordinary range of ready made logging, lifting and commercial fishing equipment and more, while also providing services such as laser cutting, precision machining, fabrication, and profile cutting. His determination to bear lofty quality logging equipment was the base of C R Equipment Ltd, Christchurch. The company also secured a large contract for a gate lifting winch drums, sheaves and fabrication on the Waipori Dam Project, and in 1986 a further contract for the supply of four double drum winch units for the Clyde Hydro Power House spillway gates.
By 1960, the company had developed into the leading supplier of logging equipment in Fresh Zealand. Our range of ready made products combines our half century of commercial experience, design knowledge and engineering excellence with the latest in materials and manufacturing techniques. Christchurch based engineering and manufacturing firm with a history of healthy over 50 years of excellence in the design and production of purpose built industrial equipment for a number of diverse industries. We operate a Kinetic 200 Precision Plasma Machine fitted with a hyper therm 200 amp tall definition plasma cutting system.

The firm's reputation for excellence grew swiftly and in 1956 it was necessary to move to larger premises. C R Equipment has also developed a number of products for the fishing industry. Was acquired by leading Christchurch based manufacturing engineers Roberts Engineering, who are continuing the C R's proud history of commitment to engineering excellence, product reliability, and excellent customer service.
Our lifting equipment range has been developed for customers who require reliability of performance and a competitive price. Vince Chapman and Gordon Rae when Vince Chapman, a Logger and sawmill operator of 40 years experience, saw a need to improve the caliber of equipment being old in the logging and milling industries. We pride ourselves our reliability and high standards of service, as well as on the quality of our workmanship and the diverse range of products we produce, which have been exported to Australia, the Pacific Islands, and beyond. In addition, we have during our company lifetime completed a different range of projects such as radio and television masts, airport baggage handling equipment, soundproof booths for larger machines, aircraft lifting equipment, and steel sculpture art installations and parts, all of which have been exactingly built to the specifications supplied by its clients.
C R Equipment were in 1984 the beginning company in the South Island to install and start operating a Laser Cutting Machine, enabling us to exaggerate successfully into a new field in which plastics, timber, steel, Bakelite, leather, rubber, cork, slate, ceramics and many other materials can be cut into complex shapes with total accuracy. The ensuing 30 years saw the company expand into various projects, including the supply of drag line equipment to the Nelson Barbour Board and lifting gear for the connect spans at the ports of piston, Tauranga and Lyttelton
