What you should know about CANTERBURY BALLET
Perform, perform, perform has always been at the forefront of Canterbury Ballet's successful training. We work with the students planning open classes to teach the fundamentals of movement, promoting confidence and the joy of movement at the initial levels. In the more senior levels, classical technique with the emphasis on achieving line and form are the founding objectives of our learning outcomes. Our mission To provide Professional Training for Ballet students that produces dancers who are technically and Artistally secure in an emotionally safe environment that fosters and upholds each students passion for the art form and recognises their individual differences.
At Canterbury Ballet we have always believed that dance is a form of self expression that everyone should experience. Our point of difference is that we have programs to suit individual needs and fulfill individual objectives. We will help you become the best dancer you can and wish to be while having fun and making lifelong friendships. Our training incorporates all the subjects that are required to enable students to prepare for a professional career if they wish to. All the teachers at Canterbury Ballet are experienced teachers with empathy, enthusiam and passion for the art of dance.
Our teachers are aware of the importance of their role in each student's development as young dancers and people. Classes are planned to be a positive and imaginative experience for all or our students. Our teachers are aware of the importance of their role in the lives of our young students
Our training programs are progressive and mirth and facilitate a ability bottom that allows each student to achieve their personal best and to emerge as an individual. The Canterbury Ballet dancer is trained in a multiple of dance genre including Jazz, Geo Classical, Character and Contemporary.
We are also ready to use our imaginations and learn how to thrive ideas with movement and dance. In 2015 Canterbury Ballet forged a partnership with A Tahiti Discovery School and several other Primary schools in Christchurch which enables talented young dancers to train daily from 1. Behind completing the after school program levels students may audition to join our fulltime trainee program which, as our Alumni confirms, has been successfully producing dancers for the industry, over the previous twenty. We now really want to know what makes a appropriate dancer and learn all about this. The students will participate in a studio showing at the close of each week in which the dancers will perform the Repertoire and class labor they have studied.
Students from all over New Zealand and Internationally, after a triumphant audition either in person or by DVD, have joined the Program. We are getting really fit now and love to perform and learn about the Ballet's. There will be two scholarships for Summer School 2017, awarded at the accessible of each week. Jesse came to Canterbury Ballet to dance in Paquita' in 2010 and loved active with the Canterbury Ballet fulltime trainee program so much he decided to stay for four months and work with Miss Missevich.
After completing the after school program levels students may audition to unite our fulltime trainee program which, as our Alumni confirms, has been successfully producing dancers for the industry, over the former twenty five years.
