The Careerforce Workforce Development Conference is about creating a space to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing New Zealand’s social and community workforces. As the demands on the New Zealand workforce in the health, social and community services and community sectors increase, so too must the innovation required to ensure our workforce is sufficiently skilled, said Louise Upston, Associate Minister for Tertiary, Education, Skills and Employment. The social and community workforce plan brings the sector together to discuss and understand. Careerforce's mission is to support sustainable improvements to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders through workforce training.
Careerforce works with employers to develop qualifications and training plans for staff, aligning learning with practical workplace activity. We already have qualifications designed specifically for M ori students and offer some M ori based resources. Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers The professional Association for Social Workers in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Association for Supported Employment in New Zealand Provides a high profile forum for the promotion, establishment and development of Supported Employment Services for people with disabilities in New Zealand.
Home Health Association The industry association for providers of home support services. New Zealand Disability Support Network an association of disability support services providers. Presbyterian Support Services One of the largest providers of a range of social services in New Zealand. Social Services Providers Aotearoa Supports social services providers to make a positive and significant difference in their communities through their work with children, young people and families.
Family and Community Services A part of the Ministry of Social Development that supports families and communities to be strong, well informed and to connect with each other. Ministry of Social Development Leads social development to achieve better futures for all New Zealanders. Office for Disability Issues Promotes and monitors implementation of the New Zealand Disability Strategy, leads cross sector policy development, and supports the Minister for Disability Issues. We are New Zealand’s Industry Training Organisation for the growing health and wellbeing sectors.
