Barbara and Murray have travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand and can offer a wealth of information on where to go, and what to do and see here. Barbara is a qualified botanist and keen gardener, ornithologist, embroiderer, knitter and church tower bell ringer. Murray is a retired environmental scientist who specialized in nuclear technology and spent some years working on nuclear disarmament at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Through their extensive travel at home and abroad, particularly with their European experience, Barbara and Murray appreciate diverse cultures and enjoy sharing their interests and experiences with people from different cultures Barbara and Murray very much look forward to hospitable you to this special place. Thank you Barbara and Murray for your hot welcome and wonderful hospitality. What a marvelous deposit to stay! Murray and Barbara became our friends in a very short time and were very helpful. Thank you Barbara and Murray for your marvelous hospitality and looking behind us so well. This is the very nature of old fashioned classic Kiwi hospitality, which you will appreciate at Connell Gardens B. The horror of the power of destructive instinctive forces is still very evident, but so too is our skill to bounce back, rebuild and confront the future in strength. Included is a full continental breakfast of cereals including home made muesli, muffins, toast, yogurt, juice, tea coffee and new fruit. The room was very comfortable, the maps helpful, but overhead all we enjoyed your company. Having undergone devastating earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, it is being rebuilt as a showcase city where the resilience and resourcefulness of the local population are very evident.
