Barbara and Murray have travelled the length and breadth of New Zealand and can offer a wealth of information on where to go, and what to do and see here. Many happy visitors have followed the itineraries and maps worked up exclusively for them. Barbara is a qualified botanist and keen gardener, ornithologist, embroiderer, knitter and church tower bell ringer. Murray is a retired environmental scientist who specialized in nuclear technology and spent some years working on nuclear disarmament at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
Through their extensive travel at home and abroad, particularly with their European experience, Barbara and Murray appreciate diverse cultures and enjoy sharing their interests and experiences with people from different cultures

This is the very nature of old fashioned classic Kiwi hospitality, which you will appreciate at Connell Gardens B. The horror of the power of destructive instinctive forces is still very evident, but so too is our skill to bounce back, rebuild and confront the future in strength. Included is a full continental breakfast of cereals including home made muesli, muffins, toast, yogurt, juice, tea coffee and new fruit. The room was very comfortable, the maps helpful, but overhead all we enjoyed your company. Having undergone devastating earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, it is being rebuilt as a showcase city where the resilience and resourcefulness of the local population are very evident.
There are also many cultural events around Christchurch including originate air concerts, buskers’ festival, and Maori cultural centers. The province of Canterbury itself is an interesting and dynamic area with many exciting places to visit beyond the city limits, including. We have had a delightful start to our trip and hope our future B As match your hospitality and advantageous tips. As seasoned travelers themselves, they know very healthy what guests need for comfort, refreshment and local knowledge.
As a trivial Bed Breakfast facility, with only the one accommodation suite, you have priority and privacy with the complete garden to yourself. They also share a passion for the flora and fauna of New Zealand, and their love of gardening is apparent through their lovely Connell Gardens, with its specialized native section together with exotic flowering plants, and with the chivalrous 1908 homesteads nestled at its center. Connell Gardens is located honest an effortless ten minute drive from Christchurch International Airport and the city center. A spacious, tranquility and homey queen bed room with en suite bathroom awaits your visit, with a separate doorway into the native garden and enough of space indoors and outdoors to relax in.
