What you should know about Florian Rhodes
Interior design and a passion for textiles and history, followed by 8 years living as an expatriate in Asia, a young family and finally returning to New Zealand. Travel and life abroad ignited a desire to know the origin of products I loved, who and how they were made for great travel accessories that were well designed and made to last and a passion for pieces made from natural materials. It is our aim to provide you not just with desirable leather bags, travel bags and accessories but beautiful origin al pieces from around the globe that will provide you with enjoyment for many years. By choosing to purchase with us you can have a great impact on the lives of those who make the products and their families and communities.
The origin of many of our designs is a 50 year old archive of patterns, hardware and embellishments that were part of the original Florian business. One of the most exciting aspects of my business is seeing raw materials, in our case leather, become something, useful, beautiful and cherished. Each item we make begins in our local tannery where we hand pick each of the cowhides that we will use. Once we have driven back to our workroom we carefully decide which hides will be made into what products. We use only New Zealand cowhide from animal that grew up in the clean, green paddocks of New Zealand were our changeable spring weather see's many pass away from natural causes
Each cowhide is handout into a unique pattern that we receive a lot of time over to ensure what we cut will make a perfect finished product.
