Jane is passionate about teaching, learning, health, wellness and personal development. She has been a registered nurse and has taught practising nurses for many years, focusing her Master’s and Doctoral studies in education. She strives to apply this knowledge of adult learning, health and wellness in her Pilates and Yoga teaching practice. Amanda graduated as a Physiotherapist in 2003 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Otago.
In 2007 and 2010 Amanda studied with Back in Motion Pilates and then in 2013 with Dance Medicine Australia Pilates. Amanda is certified with Polestar Pilates International as a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Instructor
Brisk walks numerous times a week will prepare you for more strenuous exercise when you feel up to it. Lactating women should pay notable attention to ample liquid and caloric intake and wear a healthy fitting, supportive bra when exercising. If, however, you are fit and healthy, with no health problems, and have a medical clearance, we are happy to assess you for your suitability to receive classes. If you prefer to work one to one with a trainer or have specific needs injury recovery, postural correction, exceptional goals then you can choose to remain with Private training behind your Introductory session.
Fresh clients who begin in our Amateur Mat classes, really get to grasp the fundamentals in a supportive environment or even with friends and behind one term of this class you can then join any of our Glossy 1 classes on the timetable. Using Pilates as system of exercise during pregnancy is very handy in helping to maintain your strength, flexibility, tone and improve upon your posture.
