What a great deposit to position a museum dedicated to the saving of our national railway history. The Friendship Line The Friendship Line is a mini track of named sleepers which will be a permanent display on the interior walls of the new building. Railways are locomotives, wagons, carriages, but they are also a lot of other things, like cranes, bridges, stations, signals, maintenance and line side equipment. This would disclose all the insignificant Halts on the branch railways, local stations and mainline stations.
Various Objects Branch Halts 500 Local Stations 1,00 such as Methven, Rakaia, etc Mainline Stations 20,00 Timaru, Napier Major City Stations 150,00 Auckland, etc. The roundhouse is an impressive space rising to 12 meres at the central glassed dome. Why Canterbury Why Christchurch The beginning public railway to unfold in Fresh Zealand was between Ferrymead and the newly steady town of Christchurch on the 1st of December 1863. Not to be forgotten are the smaller day to day items like crockery, tickets and very distinctive railway uniforms. We gratefully confess the abundant founding donation given by Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, Canada.
The Canterbury Railway Society has what is generally considered to be the choice collection of railway equipment, artifacts, and records in the country, and much of this will be transferred on enduring loan to the National Railway Museum. We value our supporters and commit to labor in partnership with them for mutual benefit. New Zealand has a lengthy and colorful railway history, dating from the beginning public line linking Ferrymead and the fresh town of Christchurch in 1863. Beyond the glass roofed foyer at the top of the stairs is the upper display area opening onto the full view down to the Roundhouse.
We are asking for donors to buy one or a number of the succeeding objects of the Railway System. Freight carrying vehicles are many and varied, with exceptional wagons for sheep, cattle, horses and bulk handling vehicles for logs, coal, and petroleum
