What you should know about Pegasus Health
Pegasus Health was founded in 1992 when a group of Christchurch general practitioners met to see how they could use the health reforms’ of the time to get a better deal for the local community. The early Pegasus pioneers brought together the majority of Christchurch GPs to form an Independent Practitioner Association IPA with a strong clinical education foundation and a focus on reducing wastage on unnecessary laboratory tests and prescriptions. The savings achieved went to building a range of programmes and services for patients, such as the first free GP visits for under 5s, free mammography screening for at risk women before the national programme began , and the PEGS smoking cessation programme and many more . Pegasus innovations continue to lead health service design and delivery across the country and internationally. The Pegasus education programme continues to ensure that doctors, nurses, and the wider clinical community stay on top of health developments and are kept current with changes in best practice as they happen.
In March 2013 Pegasus Health amalgamated with Partnership Health Canterbury PHO to deliver PHO services across Canterbury, Selwyn and Waimakariri districts. The amalgamation brought together the best of both Pegasus Health and Partnership Health PHO, notably a strong focus on meaningful community engagement, alongside a commitment to providing services that support and promote clinical excellence in primary care
Pacific Health Clinic was a part of the Pegasus Primary Health organization PLO and Pegasus will help its patients find a fresh general practice. Pegasus provides a range of business services to urge Pegasus Health divisions as healthy as other organizations and general practices. The team labor to support the delivery of the Pegasus Health Nursing Development Strategy by facilitating and coordinating initiatives for the development of the nursing workforce within general practice and primary health care.
Together, Pegasus Health and the communities we promote can assist construct the health system we need. Pegasus is a primary concern network providing services and encourage to general practices and the community throughout Canterbury. They labor in collaboration with general practice teams and their local communities to further develop pathways into primary health services. Within Pegasus Health we have Maori, Pacific and Asian health managers who work with these communities and with our services to make safe services are responsive to their unique health needs.
Fresh Leadership role KAIKOURA HEALTH CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST designed to join the Kaikoura Health Care Primary Practice with the Canterbury District Health Board. Primary Health organizations hos are funded by district health boards to urge the provision of essential primary health concern services through general practice to those people who are enrolled with the PLO. Pegasus Health is providing Primary Health organization PLO services for everyone who is enrolled with one of its general practices and primary protection organizations. The Practice Support and Coordination team supports primary health protection teams. Friendly 3 GP Family Practice in Christchurch requires experienced GP for 4 weeks from 5. PCs focus either on people who are not enrolled in a general practice or who are enrolled but are not visiting their general practice teams as often as they need.
They are a diverse network of people based in community organizations and high schools who labor to urge patients to access health care. Pegasus Health Nurse Membership allows practice nurses to have an individual and collective voice and persuade both within the Pegasus Health organization and the Canterbury Health system. Many organizations come together to support diverse communities such as aged people, refugee and traveling communities, children and young people and Maori and Pacific peoples. A Nurse who provides nursing services to one or more Pegasus Member Practices, for more than 40 weeks per annul and who is. Pegasus Health Charitable Ltd is a charitable company that supports 109 practices within the Christchurch and Canterbury area in delivering quality care to over 365,00 enrolled patients. The Pegasus community includes 330 member GPs, 355 practice nurses, and nearly 400 support staff as well as other community providers. Pegasus Health delivers primary health organisation PHO services to its enrolled population. We design and deliver services directly to patients , for example, through our 24 Hour Surgery, Wh nau Link, Partnership Community Workers PCWs , Community Respiratory, child health and mental health services. Pegasus supports general practice teams with back office’ functions and helps them navigate the complex health funding environment. Our philosophy is one of collaboration, working together with our communities and key partners, with the aim of improving the health of the people of Canterbury
