What you should know about Physio NZ
Robyn is now settled in Christchurch and is co director of Physio NZ Limited with her husband Marcus Thompson. Robyn has a keen interest in the future of Physiotherapy and is a member of the Physiotherapy Advisory Group PAG under the Canterbury Clinical Network and is a member on the Canterbury Physiotherapy Branch Committee. I have worked in Private practice treating all kinds of injuries and have spent 2 years working in London hospitals where I gained experience in chronic pain management and orthopaedic conditions. I believe in returning you to your best ability in the most timely fashion that is achievable while educating you on your injury and management of that injury at the same time.
I have been a physio now for 19 years, and helped nearly 10,00 people through NZ and Australia in that time. All our staff have a commitment to providing clients with the highest possible standards of treatment and service. Our physiotherapists consult regularly with one another and if it is felt that you will benefit from one of our other services this will be suggested to you. We offer a follow up service between appointments if necessary, and encourage self management and education. The Physiotherapist will need to see clearly the area involved and so suitable clothing should be worn.
Following the examination, the Physiotherapist will provide you with some advice around managing your complaint, will provide you with some exercises for you to try at home, and may do some hands on treatment also. If your are being seen for lower back or leg and feet injuries, then shorts are advised. We aim to provide our clients with a relaxed and friendly environment where they will receive education and quality management by professional and experienced staff. This will enable our clients to return to full sport and daily activity levels, while simultaneously learning appropriate self management strategies for the future.
We are committed to providing ongoing education to all team members, while simultaneously encouraging for all staff to develop their own career pathways and specialist areas within a supportive, team oriented environment.
