How you can do that is by becoming a sponsor of the Pillars Children's Mentoring programmed. They are trained and supported by Pillars during the time of the programmed. Mark donates his time to Pillars as a mentor and Board member bringing business management expertise. Together we ARE making a difference for the children of prisoners we urge to have a positive, crime free future.
Helping the community is appropriate for business but for the most part our business sponsors fair want to aid a local charity. All these incredible people volunteer their time to encourage Pillars and the children of prisoners. With our experienced team that recruits, trains and supervises our volunteer mentors, they feel encouraged and supported in their volunteer work. The report is organized in a way that follows the family and whanau through the steps of the justice system, and then details the continued urge for the family and whanau in the community when the parent is imprisoned.
Our volunteers have donated over 800 hours of their time annually to supporting children of prisoners to have a definite future. You are parenting a child or children who have a parent in prison? Pillars facilitates routine groups for caregivers of children who have a parent in prison or honest if you have a family member or loved one in prison. It is not easy for families when a parent or family member is sent to prison. All children and young people need a certain relationship with a caring person.
In South Auckland our team are occupied with whanau of which over 80 identify as Maori. Together with our partners and volunteers we are supporting children of prisoners and their family whanau to achieve generational change. Children of prisoners are among some of the most vulnerable children in our community. By sponsoring impartial one kid of a prisoner to have a definite future, you are helping to make generational change that impacts our total community.
Pillars point of difference is our programmed is research based to ensure it meets the needs of the children and families of prisoners in New Zealand. Pillars is currently the only New Zealand charity dedicated to supporting children of prisoners with a mentoring programmed together with a wrap around family whanau encourage programmed for their parent caregiver. The core programmed is a home based family wrap around service to assist strengthen the protection for these children. If being a mentor is not for you, you or your business may like to consider supporting somebody else to be a mentor through our sponsorship programmed.
Pillars programmed aim to make transformational and lengthy term impact on these children's lives through the core programmed which is a life changing gift of a mentor to be their steady and sure role model. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Pillars, without their urge we could not do the vital work that our children and family whanau need to make generational change in their lives. Mentoring is not for everyone, but anyone can assist make a difference to the life of a kid with a parent in prison by becoming a sponsor
