What you should know about Rossendale Wines
In 1987 Brent and Shirley Rawstron planted three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the banks of the Halswell River in Canterbury, New Zealand. Grant Whelan, a Lincoln graduate, was Rossendale’s winemaker from 1993 to 2002. After extensive renovations the new owners reopened the former Rossendale Restaurant as The Bicycle Thief . From the first planting of three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to the purchase of 45 hecatres of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Blenhiem Rossendale has expanded from producing enough wine to supply its own restaurant to be come a significant wine exporter. Rossendale grapes are processed by Spring Creek Vintners, a world class winemaking facility
The Vineyard Rossendale, located on Old Mai tap Road close Hal swell and only fifteen minutes from central Christchurch, will create the most memorable wedding event ever! The specially designed events center, set among st beautiful gardens and with the backdrop of a working vineyard, is the accurate venue for a memorable wedding reception.

Rossendale Cellar Door is now available from the Rossendale Office located after the Rossendale Wedding and Events center at 100 Old Mai tap Road.
The venue is available for viewing and you are invited to speak with the wedding co ordinator to discuss your ideas for a dream wedding at The Vineyard Rossendale. The wine shows classic Marlborough vibrancy, energetic fruit flavors and offers excellent value for money. Silver 2013 Avenues Aromatic Wine Awards Tasting Notes This wine has vibrant fruit aromas of ripe gooseberries, red capsicums, citrus fruits, and passion fruit. The low fermentation temperature and the specially selected aromatic yeast strain has enabled the retention of affectionate aromatics and luxurious fruit qualities in the finished wine.
Tasting notes This wine has a packed and easy nose with aromas of ripe passion fruit and tropical fruits, showing good depth and density. All conferences are tailor made to suit your specific needs and this includes the conference menu. Viticulture Notes Grapes for this wine were grown in our vineyards situated in the heart of Marlborough’s Central Valley. The low fermentation temperature and the specially selected aromatic yeast strain has enabled the retention of tender aromatics and elegant fruit qualities in the finished wine.
