Our name is an acronym for Sea Air and Land Communication and as the name implies we have designed and manufactured radio communication hardware for use in marine, aeronautical and terrestrial applications. Borne out of Tait Communications, the New Zealand communications iconic company, Salcom still has 3 of Tait’s original engineers actively involved in technical roles and on the board of directors. After nearly 40 years of being in business and having exported products to most parts of the world Salcom has gained a lot of experience in just about every area of radio communication from emergency marine beacons to airport runway lights control and everything in between. Description The combination of eight Sal com Coaster paging receivers and a Sal com eight button paging transmitter provides a cost effective paging solution for fast food and bistro environments.
Sal com was approached to provide a safety solution for a steel processing mill. A solution was required to transmit a signal from the monitoring device to a receiver which would then safe an alarm to alert the hauler operator. The ranges of products can send text messages directly to paging receivers, providing simpler, below cost systems since intermediate receivers and transmitters are not needed for short range applications. 8V DC Input Current 50mA 13. The can also be programmed to send regulate instructions to specialized paging receivers competent of controlling relays.
The requirement was to bear an alarm system in the event of steel processing going wrong. Pressing a button will transmit the message associated with that button to a pocket pager where it will display on the screen
