MacRae Landscape Design previously Sandi MacRae Landscapes is a Christchurch based company that was established in 1998. The company employs a number of designers who work on a wide range of projects including courtyard, suburban, rural and commercial properties. We offer a friendly, creative and experienced design service working with you to develop outdoor living spaces that are both beautiful and functional. We have exhibited and judged at Ellerslie International Flower show and have won numerous awards.
We have a huge resource of botanical knowledge and are closely affiliated with the Canterbury Horticultural Society and Christchurch Botanic Gardens. We value the relationships we have with associated businesses and societies, and collaborate on our projects with architects, suppliers and contractors

Randi grew up on her family’s plant nursery, and has loved gardens and plants all her life. For his clients he takes into account a property’s size, location, climate, layout, views and style of the home, creating a design that brings home and garden together to create spaces that will not only function well, but are a pleasure to be in. In her favorite pair of gumboots, Magi loves spending time developing her lifestyle property planting, sowing lawn, laying avers or project managing contractors. Magi’s passion for plants inspired her to total a Bachelor of Science in Botany, and in latter years she has achieved various Horticultural Certificates and a Diploma of Landscape Design.
We like to stay involved during the construction process to ensure your landscape is completed to the highest standards and aid answer any questions from yourselves or the contractors involved. Design Consultation We face with you at your home, property or our office to discuss your requirements and flourish a design brief. Planting Plan Once the Concept Plan is finalized, we put together a planting plan showing the locations of specific plants, including spacing and the botanical and normal names. Ellen gets turbulent about seeing spaces that she has imagined and planned on paper arrive to life.
Magi is passionate about creating functional, contemporary design solutions that maximize lifestyle options for home and property owners. Or in his own garden, which he’s been developing for the last 5 years to experiment with different types of plants including a perennial flower garden, a woodland garden and a large area of fruit and veges. She loves playing with the color and texture of plants, and creating interesting outdoor spaces where people can live and enjoy. Mark loves plans, and the process of organizing spaces to fit together in crafty and believable ways.
We have excellent knowledge and experience of Canterbury planting and can ensure that the appropriate plants are chosen and positioned correctly for each site. For as long as he can remember, Mark has had an interest in gardening and design. Whether you are creating a new landscape, renovating an old one, or simply wanting to improve your current outdoor living space, Randi and her team can help. Positioning of plants, sculptures and rocks are finishing touches to the transformation of your garden spaces.
She has many years of experience both busy in nurseries and as a landscape designer running macrame Landscape Design formerly known as Randi macrame Landscapes since 1998. Magi and Randi macrame met more than 20 years ago, when Magi was busy as an artist in Auckland. Having grown up in a green fingered family, Ellen everlasting enjoyed drawing house and garden layouts as a youngster. We walk through your property with you discussing what needs to be done to retain the plants well and at the desired shapes and sizes.
So when it came time to pick something to observe behind high school, landscape architecture was a instinctive fit. Before becoming a landscape designer Mark spent 10 years busy as an architectural designer, which has given him a appropriate understanding of design, construction and local regulations
