Craft in Christchurch

For many years we have travelled to France in search of authentic French tradition and design from the grand ateliers of Maison et Objet in Paris to the market stalls and vide greniers of small country towns. Our new website, Found in France, will reflect that diversity and authenticity porcelain from Limoges, Quimper faience and knives from Thiers Art Nouveau and Art Deco and Industrielle old copper and linen and pewter and glass from big braderies and bustling foires, from fast talking dealers and the friendly chaos of church brocantes. These qualities lie at the heart of everything we bring back home, an essence of France that our customers know and love. If this is of interest to you, just click here to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook during our trip to France.
Visitors are welcome at any time, but please ring us first to make sure we are home

After abundant emails and meetings and talking things through with Jennifer and Goff, we decided we would arrive a couple of weeks ahead of the brocante tour and explore a small of France by ourselves. For many years we have traveled to France in search of sincere French tradition and design from the grand ateliers of Madison et object in Paris to the market stalls and Gide greniers of little country towns. There was also the opportunity to enjoy the local tourist spots and learn some history. For many years we have traveled to France in search of sincere French tradition and design from the grand ateliers of Madison et object in Paris to the market stalls and Gide greniers of insignificant country towns.
After many visits to Goff and Jennifer’s shop in Akaroa to purchase French treasures when I discovered they were taking a Brocante Tour to France I was ready for it! We visited many small places that you would never find yourself and met some characters along the way. This was our second Brocante tour in France with Goff and Jennifer whose company we greatly enjoy. The 2015 tour in the Loire district was excellent and we purchased some lovely bits and pieces especially tapestries and old linen. The Laguiole knife French pronunciation la j l, locally Maj l is a high quality conventional Occitan pocket knife, originally produced in the town of Laguiole in the Aveyron region of southern France. Laguiole knives are manufactured by more than 30 different companies in France quality and style vary.
If, like me, you have ever dreamed of wandering through French villages, staying in attractive historic locations and browsing the old shops and brocante markets, then this is the tour for you! It’s an experience I will perpetual treasure, and I cannot advocate them highly enough. Although the Priory can accommodate up to twelve people we are limiting the groups to five so we can give you, and the packing and shipping of your purchases, our stuffed attention. An organized itinerary of markets, old shops, restaurants and brocante stores, with visits to away Be Rideau, Tours, Amboise, Montsoreau and chignon and the option of day trips to either cloches or Chenonceau. Goff and Jennifer invite you to join them for a week in Touraine, staying at an ancient priory, exploring markets, Eric brace and antique shops and visiting royal ch teaux and Renaissance towns in the valley of the Loire and ravishing insignificant villages on the peaceful Andre River.
For many years we have traveled to France in search of real French tradition and design from the grand ateliers of Madison et object in Paris to the market stalls and Gide greniers of insignificant country towns. Lagrasse itself is very picturesque with its medieval abbey, river and historic town. We stayed in an immaculate little hotel home stay in the wall of the village with a private courtyard and very comfortable rooms. We have eternal traveled overseas on our own, so the decision to unite you both on your Brocante Tour in France this year was made initially, purely out of a desire to get larger items we purchased home easier and also to maybe visit places we would not have found on our own. Alternatively, donate us a call on , and we can make a time to suit you.
