Dave Hunter joins Leigh Construction as General Manager Construction 01 March 2017. With our head office based in Christchurch, we are opening doors and embarking on projects throughout New Zealand and abroad. Leigh delivers projects across a range of sectors, including health, commercial, primary industry, agriculture, retail, education and government. In recent years, we have formed joint ventures with leading international construction companies to ensure our capacity and capabilities are second to none.

Hunter commenced his role with Leigh on 1st March, and is based in the company’s Auckland office.
He is at the forefront of Building Information modeling BIA, sitting on the BIA Acceleration Committee, a nationwide alliance of industry and government, established in 2014 to coordinate efforts to amplify the use of BIA in New Zealand. With our head office based in Christchurch, we are opening doors and embarking on projects throughout Fresh Zealand and abroad. We’re extremely turbulent to have Dave on board and imparting his knowledge and skills with our teams in this key leadership role. It’s very obvious by the way in which Leigh operates that they are a company embracing new technologies and methods of construction, which is what is required to retain ahead in today’s world, says Hunter.
More recently, he was project director of the Fresh Zealand International Convention center in central Auckland. Like most sectors, construction has evolved and changed immensely since I beginning started out more than three decades ago as a project engineer. Leading industry expert Dave Hunter has joined Leigh Construction as the company’s General Manager Construction. In 1994, Mr Hunter returned from three years overseas to manage construction of Auckland’s Sky Tower, one of the maximum hard projects ever delivered in Fresh Zealand, and at that time the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere.
As Leigh grows as a tier one construction company, we are committed to keeping abreast of the fresh innovations and technologies that make our builds even better, more intelligent, and increasingly user friendly. These are exciting times, and Dave will be playing a pivotal role in our executive team moving forward, says Leigh. I’ll be active with a national focus, and am also looking forward to seeing all the outrageous work Leigh is doing in Christchurch rebuild and Dunedin.
